Task_3_6_Reflection:

This week the Pue'o group reflected on what it would be like to be or to deal with a "Breathless in Pearl City."  We have all been there, haven't we?  Overwhelmed and stressed out, we find it hard to step out of our comfort zones in order to try to relate and cooperate with others. So we can overreact and also create sttressful situations where none yet exists.

1.   In a PBL situation, where you have a grade level or department working together, the idea of group learning will lighten the workload.  The ideas flowing out of a group collaboration will be dynamic and creative.

2.  The biggest problem that I see with student teams is in the initial workings in the team setting.  Everyone has different expectations.  Everyone's schedules are different.  Yet, everyone needs to have the same goal of working towards future group and thus individual success.  It is also hard if one group member fails to communicate or come through with their part of the project.  that leaves the others in jeopardy of a bad grade.

3.  The best strategy for managing conflict is constant communication between team members.  This is especially easy with the use of text messaging and e-mail.  No longer do you have to play phone tag or deal with lengthy phone calls.  The next strategy would be flexibility.  Learn to work together as a team.  Everyone's schedules are different; yours is not the only busy one.  Be compassionate and cooperative.

4.  Our group had no problems this week.  We work together very well as a group, so we it ws easy to share on this subject.
